ONLINE GALLERIES AND DESIGN SITES
-
Johnny
Lowe
My multifaceted cousin Johnny in Wilmington, NC continues to impress me. Not only does
he design, he dances like a madman (read, b-boy allstar) with the Swoon Unit and
plays the bass with the Rakehells.
-
David Choe
I adore this man's work. If you have a soul, you might love it too.
-
Julie
Peasley
I've known Julie since the turn of the century. She's an intrepid designer who knows how to
survive in this wicked economy. But she does other things as well. Check out Eleventh
Hour Clocks (scroll down for the link).
-
Bill
Mancuso
Do you ever wonder where collectible action figures are born? Look no further. The site, he
says is a bit dated, but the contact info is current.
-
Tim
Richardson
Tim Richardson is a jack of all media. View his cartooning, indy films, photography and
celebrety parodies at his site.
-

wide variety of features and services that enable customers to buy and sell their art.
COHORTS
- Paper Monkey Press
Illustrators! Rori Nicole of PMP wants to work with you. She's tired of the same old baby
announcements and business cards. Give this savvy letterpresser a challenge and a
release. Then pet her dog Floyd.
-
Blue
Barnhouse
My good friends the Mises run a letterpress operation in West Asheville, NC. Pay them a
visit for all your handprinted needs this side of anywhere.
-
Sigilation
After visiting the source of this art, and then the web site, I truly think I've been jinxed.
No.. that's just caffiene deprivation. Nicole McConville is a prolific assemblage artist (and
the one responsible for my book contract). See and believe.
-
John Paul
Davis
We've been friends now for over a decade. He's a scathingly brilliant writer. Even stuff he's
done that he hates will leave you haunted and hungry. He also posted this site for me
since I still don't know how.
PARTNERS IN PLUSH
-
BiggerKrissy
An intrepid young designer from Santa Monica knows how to make herself a bigger and
better person through creativity and business savvy.
-
Monika Evardsen & Co.

sculpting as well. Visit this link, but don't miss the other links. The whole site is rich with
interesting stuff.
-
House of
Ingri
I truly hope Ingri gets the notoriety she deserves. These designs of hers are truly splendid,
and the vinyl sheen really brings them alive.
-
I See
Sock Monkeys
Remember sock monkeys? Get to know them all over again here.
-
Lost Monster Designs
I really like the concept here of just going ahead and making a bunch of monsters and
putting them up for adoption. I might just do that for extras I make or for creatures that
get ordered and forgotten by the customer. Check out the madness of Keli. As she says,
"monstrous creatures should stick together." And I completely agree.
-
FriendsWithYou
I'd be friends with them in a heartbeat.
-
Ugly Doll
Sun Min Kim and David Horvath have opened doors for many of us stuffed toy designers.
Thanks, you guys.
-
Jenny
Mae Creations
Another kindred spirit of mine. in addition to her other artwork, she tortures socks... with
alarmingly nice results that are edgy in a way that I just can't immitate.
ILLUSTRATORS I ADMIRE
-
Trevor VanMeter
This former college classmate of mine was always a step above me illustratively. I didn't
even try to compete. Some people just deserve to be the alpha cartoonist in the pack, and
this guy is brrrrrilliant. Since his transition into vector art, his illustrations have only
become better. Check him out. And if you're TVM himself, drop me a line!!.
-
Little Cartoons by Brandon Ragnar Johnson
What came first: Buying one of his prints at the Wondercon or seeing his site on the web. I
can't remember. All I know is that my illustrative life is forever changed. When he told me
his work is all vector art, I was dumbfounded. Please don't confuse him for Shag. Though
they're similar, I think Ragnar's a notch above.
-
Katherine McGinn
Currently working on her master's degree in Edinborough, PA, Katherine McGinn is already
a purveyor of beautifully haunting prints and drawings.
-
Andy Farkas
This man knows how to survive. We were friends back in art school and I always aspired to
be as talented as he... thing is, our styles took drasatically different forks in the road, so
now I just aspire to be as together-headed as he is.
-
Lisa A.
Stapor
This lady has much more patience than I do for realistic portraits. If ever you want one
done, I will gladly refer you to her. She's also a very genuinely friendly person with a
unique regard for her loved ones.
-
Ryan
Lee
Ryan Lee is a tremendously talented illustrator. I like his work because it's similar to mine,
but with fewer limitations and a much more evolved sense of light and color. He's an
example of where I hope to be soon skill-wise.
SOME FISH ARE TROPICAL
-
Sy Rogers
This guy might focus on human sexual issues, but he leaves no stone unturned.

designs at her shop. Make an appointment first. If her work doesn't turn your knees to
pudding, she herself will.

THINGS I'D FILL MY HOME WITH (NOT THAT THE ABOVE SECTIONS DON'T APPLY HERE
SOME...)
-
Kid Robot
I really hope to be on their shelves one of these days.
-
Eleventh Hour Clocks by Julie Peasley
I bet that even if we did have an extra couple of hours in the day, we'd still find a way to
procrastinate them away. But then there'd really be a significant market for Ms. Peasley's
inventions!!.
-
Buy and Sell Office Furniture
Good old Ryan Novack. If he weren't married, gosh almighty... (he'd be single, and then
there'd be two of us!). Ryan's a much better events promoter than a seller of office
furniture. You should see what he's been able to accomplish with his AIDS foundation
fundraising variety show.
